Essentials of Hanyang University’s programs in Data Sciences are designed to train students to become tomorrow’s leaders in this rapidly growing area. Through a unique combination of coursework and cutting-edge research, the programs will enable them to apply techniques and tools of data science to applications drawing on appropriate and relevant concepts and models from the engineering, natural or social sciences. Graduates will be uniquely positioned to pioneer new developments in this field, and to be leaders in industry, the public sector, and academia.

Data Sciences at Hanyang is aimed to educate the students in three innovative ways. All courses are delivered in English, problem (or project-based), and intensive block scheduling. At every semester, one or two subjects are selected in a scaffolding way to the department’s core skill set and empowered by one or two active learning (self-managing) real-world problem research. The main roles of the professors is not to teach the content, but more focuses on motivating and coaching the students to find their own ways to reach their own skill sets in the field of data sciences, computational intelligence and artificial intelligence.
